HAPPY HOMES IN CONJUNCTION WITH TINGATHE WOMEN DONATES UNIFORMS TO KAOMBA PRIMARY SCHOOL

15 learners are excited after receiving uniforms

“You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.” John Bunyan.

October 21, 2022 was the day of jubilation at Kaomba Primary School in a mountainous area of Dowa district, T/A Msakambewa when Happy Homes Foundation in partnership with Tingathe Women Social Enterprise organization donated uniforms, school materials and toiletries to 15 learners both girls and boys. This donation was given to the most needy children who spent years at this primary school without wearing a uniform. Thanks to our donor, Tingathe Women for this support.

This area of Dowa district is a remote area where most people are in extreme poverty. Therefore, it becomes difficult for parents to buy uniforms and other necessities for their children. Most girls engage in early marriages due to poverty since they find it hard to continue with their education.

During the donation ceremony, Head Teacher for the school, Mr Bukile commended Happy Homes Foundation and Tingathe Women for the timely donation. He advised mothers to the children who were in attendance to encourage their children to go to school since education is a key.

Mrs Generose Dziko, Founder of Tingathe Women advised rural women to start small businesses so that they should be able to provide for their children. Furthermore, children were encouraged to work hard in class, continue their education to secondary school and go further to college.

As a charity organization, we have learnt that most children at this school are in need for support especially good clothing, shoes, school materials and other necessities. The main challenge they face is the discontinuation of school due to lack of school fees and other necessities when selected to secondary school. We therefore ask the general public to work hand in hand with us in order to support the needy. No matter how small a donation might be, it will bring an impact to a child.
